Honorees Selection Criteria


For consideration to be nominated to the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame:

1) Person must either be born in the Greater Binghamton Community, or have a long term association in the area (10 years), or be considered “home town” and commonly associated with our area by the general public.


2) The person should exemplify ethical conduct, high standards of sportsmanship, and be respected by the general community.


3) The person must meet one of the following criteria:

a) is or was an outstanding athlete in high school, college, amateur or professional sports,

b) is or was a coach, manager, trainer, official, administrator, or news media person who has made a significant contribution to sports,

c) is a person who is performing or has performed unusual or distinguished services in fostering, developing or effectively helping a sport to prosper.



Net proceeds directly benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton and Western Broome and establish a location for the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame.
